Jeanetta D. Parrigin, 86, of Galesburg, died at 4:34 p.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg.

She was born September 9, 1936 in Burkesville, Kentucky, the daughter of John A. and Bessie G. (Sells) Murray. Jeanetta was a dedicated homemaker, mother, and caretaker. She loved and enjoyed raising her boys.

Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Rickey Parrigin of Galesburg, and James “Jimmy” (Linda) Hamlin, Jr. of Monmouth, Illinois; four grandchildren: Matthew Parrigin, Annie Bundza, and Mariah Parrigin, all of Galesburg, and Erica (Wade) Parrigin-Green of Moline, Illinois; and one niece, Brenda (Thomas) Holmes of New Castle, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Jeffrey E. Parrigin and Tony B. Parrigin; and one brother, Kenneth Murray.

Jeanetta always kept herself busy. She loved creating art through painting, especially rice painting. She also enjoyed crafting and fixing jewelry; one of her favorite pieces to create being spoon rings. Beyond her artistic abilities, she will be lovingly remembered as a wise and gentle woman with a kind and caring heart.

Cremation has been accorded. No services are planned. Memorials may be made to the family in care of Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory. Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com.
