Mr. John “Jack” A. Saline, 95, of Rio, Illinois passed away at 10:30 pm Saturday, February18, 2023 at his home.
Jack was born March 26, 1927 in Maquon, Illinois, the son of Carl and Helen (Gustafson) Saline. He married Mary Regina “Jean” Cox on November 8, 1952, in Wyoming, Illinois. She preceded him in death on October 10, 2013.
Jack is survived by his three sons, Dale (Petra) Saline, Wayne (Barb) Saline and Paul (Beth) Saline all of Rio, Illinois; three daughters, Sue Saline and Leslie Styles both of California and Mary Beth Saline of Rio, Illinois; his daughter-in-law, Angie Saline; his sister-in-law, Marilyn Saline; seven grandchildren, Ross, Evan and Grant Saline, Brooke (Bart) Wolek, Brett (fiancé Bailey) Saline, Savannah and Cameron Saline; one step granddaughter, Robin (Brandon) Surbur; three great grandchildren, Rowan, Declan, Cian and one great granddaughter expected in June and two step great grandchildren, Marley and Maverick. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his son, Glenn Saline, his brother, Sterling Saline and his son-in-law, Duane Styles.
Jack graduated from Alpha High School in 1945 and later served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as a Sgt. After returning home he went to work on the family farm, Saline Farms. Jack also co-owned and operated Saline Trucking Company.
Jack volunteered his time serving on the Rio Fire Department and the ROWVA School board. He was a member of the Knox County Farm Bureau and the Alpha American Legion Post #1197. Jack was a member of the Rio Presbyterian Church in Rio, Illinois.

A Memorial Visitation is scheduled for 1:00-2:00 pm Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel. A Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 pm at the chapel. Military Honors will be conducted at the funeral home. Burial will be held at a later date in Rio Baptist Cemetery.
