Learn Basic Cemetery Preservation Training During Local Workshop at Sugar Tree Grove Cemetery

As a way to promote heritage and preservation of local cemeteries, a basic preservation training workshop with classroom and hands-on experience will be held at the Sugar Tree Grove Cemetery on Saturday, April 29th from 9 am to 4 pm, shares John Turnbull:

“Last summer I latched onto an offer for having a workshop that would promote preservation training in a cemetery and a church. I mention the man named John Heider and I invited him out and we went through the church. What he was asking for was a classroom setting to give materials, tips, and information about preservation and cemetery training. We all went over to the Sugar Tree Grove Cemetery and he walked through there and was very impressed with what we had because it was right down his alley of what he wants to talk about; cleaning stones, writing stones, and putting them back in order. Cemetery preservation is his game, that is what he likes to do and there are some definite dos and don’ts information wise.”

The preservation training will begin at the Sugar Tree Grove Church. Registration for the day is $60. For more information or to get registered, contact Turnbull at 309-734-2131.
