Nancy Eileen Bigger, 74, of Media, Il went home to her Lord on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Oaklane Nursing and Rehab. Nancy was born January 30, 1949, the daughter of Bernard (Gale) and Emma  (Carolyn) Baylor Bigger.

Nancy attended college in Indiana, where her mother had moved her at a young age. While attending Ball State, she met her husband, Phil Ciato. They later divorced. Nancy followed her mother to live in Florida, were she resided in the Tampa area, caring for her mother,  until her recent return to Illinois.

Nancy was a classic child of the 60s. Nancy loved the smell of Patchuli and peach wine. She handed out flowers at airports and on street corners. She wore flowers in her long hair, peace signs, and bell bottom jeans. She was truly peace, love, harmony, and good will.  When she met Marshall Vandenburg, she met her soul mate. They were two of a kind!! They loved animals, life, and each other. They loved to sing together as Marshall played guitar.

Nancy was the epitome of a Free Spirit. She was a waitress most of her life, as she loved people. Old people, young people, and everyone in between. She came to see her family as often as she could over the years.

She was preceeded in death by her parents, grandparents, aunt Jennifern Lundvall, uncles Reldon and Jim Bigger, Lefty Baylor, and the love of her life, Marshall Vandenburg. She is survived by her aunts, Norma Bigger, Nola Talbott, and Verla Bigger, and many cousins.

Her heart was so big and so full of love for everyone she met. You can see that by the number of staff from Oak Lane Nursing and Rehab that cared so much for Nancy. She is going to be so missed by those that loved her as hard as she loved them back!!!

She will be the brightest star in the sky!

Her family would like to invite friends to join them in a celebration of Nancy’s life at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 3, 2023 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst.  They will receive friends one hour prior to the celebration.  A memorial fund has been established for Oak Lane Nursing & Rehab in Stronghurst.  Please visit Nancy’s obituary at banksandbeals.com to sign the guest book and leave a condolence.
