Robert Charles McMillan, 78, of Knoxville, Illinois, died at home Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at 11:06 p.m.
Bob was born March 30, 1944 at home in Allamakee, Iowa the son of Carlyle Sidney and Berniece Leona (Edwards) McMillan. After graduating from Knoxville High School, Bob went to work for Butler Mfg. in Galesburg for over 40 years, retiring as a supervisor in 2006.
Bob married Connie Harshbarger Pieper on May 13, 1995 in Galesburg, Illinois. Bob is survived by his wife, Connie of Knoxville; one son, Rob (Joey Paille) McMillan of Wisconsin; two daughters, Tina (Steve) Grigsby of Mundelein, Illinois and Nanette “Nan” (Patrick) Pridgen of Fayetteville, Georgia; and a step son, Justin Pieper of Princeton, Illinois. Bob is also survived by four beloved grandchildren, Nicholas, Jacob, Parker and Gracie; and one step granddaughter, Madelynn. Along with his parents, Bob was preceded in death by one brother, Bill and one sister, Betty Brandy.
In his free time, Bob enjoyed being outdoors fishing, taking numerous fishing trips with his buddies to Sesser, Illinois. Bob and Connie also enjoyed many trips to Branson, Missouri and going to many different shows.
Cremation has been accorded. A graveside service for Bob will be 11:00 am Friday, March 24, 2023 at Knoxville Cemetery, Knoxville, Illinois. A celebration of life/luncheon will follow graveside services at the Thomas Legacy Center at Watson Thomas Funeral Home, Galesburg. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Memorials may be made in Bob’s memory to the Knox County Humane Society.
