State Representative Dan Swanson (R-Alpha) continues his fight against Lyme Disease with legislation given approval in the Illinois House Thursday night. By using the Off Highway Vehicle usage Stamp, Swanson wants to get funding through the sale of the existing off-highway vehicle trails public access sticker for the research and prevention of Lyme disease.

HB3526 takes $5 from the sale of each off-highway vehicle trails public access sticker and deposits it into the Tick Research, Education, and Evaluation Fund, which is created as a special fund in the State treasury.

The bill was approved in the House and now moves on to the Senate for their consideration. Attached is audio with the representative from the House floor.
