Thefts Continue to Cause Concerns in McDonough County

Just like many other counties across Illinois, thefts are on the rise in McDonough County, along with a recent string of juvenile vandalism in Bushnell. Sheriff Nick Petitgout says having some sort of security cameras at your home are very handy:

“The doorbell cameras are very, very handy. Also having some sort of video camera, even out your back door into the backyard, if you have an alley way, garage in the alley, it will come in handy. More importantly, just people being vigilant; if you see something, please tell us. If you see somebody out roaming around or have a clothing description, please let us know.”

Sheriff Petitgout also reminds homeowners to lock up personal belongings, vehicle doors, and garages.
