Here’s the WMOI/WRAM Athletes of the Week for the week ending March 26, 2023:

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is senior girls soccer player, Yoselim Hernandez. Coming off a junior season in which Yoselim led the Titans in goals scored, she picked up this season right where she left off. Yoselim had both goals of a 2-1 win over Limestone in the 2023 season opener.

The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is senior Kamryn Penn. Kamryn got her season off to a great start in a win over South Fulton. She went 3-for-3 at the plate, win one of those hits being a double. Kamryn also scored a pair of runs and knocked in two runs, as well. She also had hit in a game later in week, making her 4-for-6 for the week.

The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is sophomore softball player, Addie Seitz. Addie’s performance against Class 3A Galesburg was one for the ages. She smashed two home runs, went 3-for-5 with 5 rbis in a 12-0 win over the Silver Streaks. She also pitched all five innings only giving up two hits with nine strikeouts. For the entire week, Addie threw 18 innings only giving up two earned runs with 32 strikeouts.

The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is junior girls track and field athlete, Syriah Boyd. Syriah took part in the Illinois Prep Top Times Meet in Bloomington. She ran a time of 25.64 in the 200 meter dash. That time put Syriah on the podium with a 2nd place finish.

The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week is freshman softball player, Avery Stegall. Avery got her high school softball career started with a bang. In just her second at-bat of her first season of high school softball, Avery blasted a 2-run home run.
