Biggsville Man and Woman Charged with Possession of Methamphetamine

Wesley A. Fields, 45 of Biggsville, Illinois and Tamara S. Fields, 39 of Biggsville were charged on April 14, 2023 with the following offenses:
▪ Count 1: Aggravated Unlawful Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine, Class X Felony
▪ Count 2: Aggravated Unlawful Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine, Class X Felony
▪ Count 3: Unlawful Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine, Class X Felony
▪ Count 4: Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Class 1 Felony
▪ Count 5: Unlawful Use of Property, Class 2 Felony
▪ Count 6: Unlawful Possession of Weapons by Felon, Class 3 Felony
▪ Count 7: Unlawful Possession of Weapons by a Felon, Class 3 Felony
▪ Count 8: Unlawful Possession of Weapons by a Felon, Class 3 Felon

If convicted of aggravated unlawful possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, the maximum statutory penalty for the crime is a term of imprisonment of not less than 8 years and not more than 40 years. The charge also carries an 18-month term of mandatory supervised release and a possible fine of up to $200,000. A person convicted of or pleads guilty to aggravated unlawful possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine shall not be eligible to probation or conditional discharge.

Agencies participating in the investigation include West Central Illinois Task Force, FBI TOC-W Task Force, Illinois State Police, Macomb Police Department, Monmouth Police Department, Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, and McDonough County Sheriff’s Office.

BACKROUND: The West Central Illinois Task Force (WCITF) is comprised of Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) supervisors and special agents as well as police officers and detectives assigned by local law enforcement agencies. WCITF partners with the Statewide Terrorism Intelligence Center (STIC), Counterdrug Analysts, as well as the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and other agencies to reduce crime through intelligence-led policing, which focuses enforcement efforts on high level drug distribution and trafficking. WCITF partners with community groups, health organizations, and local stakeholders to address and prevent substance abuse disorders affecting the community. Member agencies of WCITF include officers from ISP, Macomb, Canton, and Quincy Police Departments and officers from the Fulton, Adams, Brown, and Pike Counties.

Tamara S. Fields bail bond was set in the amount of $250,000 at 10% to apply. The defendant’s next court appearance is set for May 3, 2023.
