Clifford D. Seward Sr, 68, of Abingdon, passed away at 12:24 p.m. Thursday, April 27, 2023, in OSF St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born January 10, 1955, in Chicago, the son of Delbert and Anna (Neuman) Seward.

He is survived by his children, Clifford (Chantil Hass) Seward Jr. of Pekin and Sarah (Chris) Howard of Lincoln; three grandchildren, Ozzie, Tyson, and Addison Treakle; two sisters, Debra (Bob) Carter of Prairie City and Janet (Jeff) Hunt of Corsicana, Texas; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Mary Wagher, Pat Jackson, and Gloria Smith; and a brother, Delbert Seward.

Clifford worked at United Facilities in Galesburg for several years before retiring. He was a member of The Church of God of Prophecy. He enjoyed mushrooming and fishing.

Clifford served in the United States Army with the 24th Division.

Cremation will be accorded. To celebrate his life, the family is hosting a gathering in the Community Room of the Blue Bell Towers from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2023. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with final expenses. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services of Abingdon is honored to serve the family.
