Nancy A. Miller,61, of Alexis, IL passed away at 10:12 pm, Sunday, April 2, 2023 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL.

Nancy was born January 24, 1962 in Galesburg, IL the daughter of Carl John and Betty A. (Stull) Bruns.  She was raised and educated in Alexis, graduating from Alexis High School in 1980, later graduating from Carl Sandburg College in 1982 with an Associate Degree in Applied Science Business Data Processing.

Following graduating from high school Nancy worked at Jud’s Jewelry, Lucas, Brown, McDonald & Conolly, Alexis Fire Equipment Co, along with waitressing at Penny’s Café in Alexis for several years.  Most recently Nancy worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad as Yardmaster for 31 years before retiring in 2022.

She was a former member St. Teresa’s Catholic Church in Alexis.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, playing Bunco, sewing, reading and being with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Jason (Amy) Lair and Katie (Ryan) Condreay both of   Alexis; 6 grandchildren, Abby, Ally, Alex, James, Calvin and Crew; her brother, Paul (Jody) Bruns of Fairhope, AL; sister-in-law, Kelly Bruns of Alexis, IL; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Steve “Wiener” Bruns.

Memorial services will be 10:00 am, Saturday, April 8, 2023 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth.  Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 pm, Friday, April 7, 2023 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Alexis Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Nancy A. Miller Memorial Fund and sent to the funeral home.
