The Monmouth College men’s golf team started the SLIAC Championships on Sunday. The three-day conference final, at the par-72 Fair Oaks Golf Club in Caseyville, Illinois, represents the last meet of the season for the Fighting Scots
Ryan Prusak (Oswego, Illinois) and Ganon Greenman (Alpha, Illinois) had the best round for Monmouth on Sunday with rounds of 78, leaving them both at +6 and tied for 19th. Prusak tied for eighth in both 2021 and 2022 to make SLIAC Second Team All Conference. Greenman finished 19th last year in his first SLIAC Championships.
Briggs Bossert (Evanston, Illinois) shot a +9 81 on Sunday and he is tied for 31st. Noah Shields (Rantoul, Illinois) shot a +10 82 and is tied for 35th. Grant Foster (Galesburg, Illinois) is in 52nd place after a +25 round of 97.
The Scots sit in eighth place out of 11 teams after one day with a team score of 319. The top four players account for the team score. Monmouth has finished in eighth place out of 11 teams in each of the last two years. Webster leads the team score after the first round at 299 while also having the individual leader at -1, 71.
Round two is set for Monday and the event ends with a third round on Tuesday.
