Story by Prairie Communications intern Kadin Rogers

The United high school track team had their first home meet last week. In addition to being the first meet at home for the Red Storm, it was also the first meet on the brand new track that was put in place over the offseason. The new track includes 8 lanes, which gives United the opportunity to host IHSA sectional meets in the future. Both boys and girls squads won their respective divisions at the first annual Red Storm Invitational. Head Coach on the boys side of the track and field program, Ryan Coleman, says the new track will make meets and practices function more smoothly.

The Red Storm track and field teams will next be in action tomorrow April 4th at Monmouth-Roseville High School. For the full interview with Coach Coleman, visit the Sports Podcast section.
