Charles E. “Chig” McGeehon, 78, of Monmouth, IL passed away at 3:41 p.m., Monday, May 1, 2023 at his home.

Chig was born July 8, 1944 in Gladstone, IL, to Bessie Marie Arnold. He was raised and educated in Kirkwood, IL.

Chig married Constance “Connie” Ann Shinn in Little York, IL, on February 22, 1964, just celebrating 59 years together, and she survives.

Chig was of Methodist Faith. He farmed west of Little York for over 20 years.  He later owned and operated Chig’s Service and Connie’s Corner in Little York for several years.  He also enjoyed his family, ham radio, and gardening. He was a member of the Amateur Radio Relay League. Chig and Connie own a farm in Edina, MO and enjoyed camping in Rutledge, MO. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Surviving is his wife, Connie McGeehon of Monmouth; 3 sons, Eugene R. McGeehon of Punta Gorda, FL, Charles C. “Chuck” McGeehon of Little York and James “Jamie” B. “Brittany” McGeehon of Alexis, Il; 1 daughter, Julia Ann McGeehon Lytle of Galesburg, IL; 6 grandsons, Justin, Ashton, Damien, Tanner, Craig, and Chris; 2 great grandchildren, Charlie and Everlee; numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his mother; brother, David Smith and son-in-law, Rodney Lytle.
