FISH of Galesburg Collecting Carts for the Community; WMOI/WRAM Stuff the Pantry May 18th & 19th

FISH of Galesburg is an emergency food pantry, which has served residents of Knox County since 1970. Throughout the week of May 15th through the 19th, FISH will hold a Carts for the Community event where they will be collecting donations of wagons or carts, explains Director Elizabeth Culbertson:

“It is the Knox County Housing Authority, River Bend Food Bank Galesburg Branch, and FISH are all partnering together to collect gently used carts and wagons or items for the community. We have learned since moving to our new location that we have a large number of guests that walk from the neighborhood. Not everybody has transportation, so we are trying to collect gently used carts and wagons that then the Knox County Housing Authority can distribute. Then families that need those items to get food to and from pantry would be able to do that.”

On Thursday, May 18th and Friday, May 19th, members of the Galesburg community along with WMOI and WRAM will team up for the annual Stuff the Pantry event at Hy-Vee on Henderson Street from 10 am to 2 pm, with proceeds and food donations benefiting the FISH Food Pantry. The Stuff the Pantry event will be broadcast on Sunny 97.7 WMOI, online at radiomonmouth.com, or on the free WMOI app.
