Mrs. Joann E. Wixforth, 84, of Henderson, Illinois, formerly of rural Galesburg, died 4:50 a.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at her home.

She was born April 4, 1938, in Abingdon, Illinois to Lester L. and Lenora (Hadley) Paulsgrove. She married Gary L. Wixforth, December 23, 1982, in Galesburg. He preceded her in death July 14, 2020.

Surviving is a son, David C. Brant, Jr. of Dubois, Wyoming, three daughters, Diann Johnson of Henderson, Darlene (and John) Bloedow of Boscobel, Wisconsin, and Denise Shaffer of Texas, two sisters, Mary Mathias of Coal Valley, Illinois and Chary (and Vern) Vlach of Wataga, Illinois, six grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Gary Paulsgrove and Robert Paulsgrove.

Joann attended Galesburg High School. She worked for Outboard Marine Corporation, Gale Products Division in Galesburg for 14 years and retired in 1983. She was of the Catholic faith. She enjoyed gardening, especially caring for her roses. She loved spending time with her family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff of OSF Hospice for their loving care of Mom.

Cremation will be accorded. A graveside committal service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2023, in Monmouth Cemetery, Monmouth, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Henderson Fire Department. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service are assisting the family with arrangements.
