Longtime Cardinals Writer Rick Hummel Dies At 77

The St. Louis Cardinals are saddened following the passing of longtime writer Rick Hummel.  The Hall of Famer has died at the age of 77.  Nicknamed the “Commish”, Hummel covered the Cardinals for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch for 50 years before retiring after the 2022 season.  He was born in Quincy, Illinois and attended the University of Missouri’s School of Journalism.
