Monmouth-Roseville Titan Girls Soccer Making Positive Strides in Third Season

Story by Prairie Communications intern Kadin Rogers

The Monmouth-Roseville girls soccer team is in the midst of their best season in the first three years of the young program. In their inaugural season in 2020 they finished winless in 15 contests but have shown steady improvement in the past two years, winning 4 games in 2021 and currently holding a winning record of 7-5-4 in the 2023 season. As IHSA regional play comes closer for the Titans, they have been playing sound defense, but have not been able to come away with many goals as they finished their last two contests against Canton and Macomb with 0-0 ties. After the scoreless match against Macomb last night, head coach at Monmouth-Roseville, Zach Statham, says that the focus of the team in practice will be trying to generate more offense as postseason play heats up.

The Titans finish up the season with two road matches at Quad Cities Christian and Sterling, before coming right back home to begin regional play at Pattee Fields against the Canton Little Giants on May 10th.
