Prairieland and Lincoln Trail Conference Combing to Make Up Lincoln Land Conference

The school year has officially ended for many schools around the listening area, which means school athletic programs now begin their summer workouts, as they start to prepare for the 2023-2024 athletic calendar. A big change that is in order for several area high school football teams will be the merging of the Lincoln Trail Conference and the Prairieland Conference for the high school football regular season beginning this fall. The Abingdon-Avon Tornadoes football team has been in the LTC for several years, and has played crossover games against Prairieland opponents multiple times. Athletic Director at A-Town Reid Kelso, says the move is not only good for Tornado Athletics, but a good move for both conferences in general.
