West Central Board of Education Swears in New Members; Elects Officers

The West Central Board of Education met last week to seat new members on the board.  Superintendent Stacey Day thanked out-going Board members, Jodi Arnold, Steve Lumbeck and Mike Lenahan, for their service, time and dedication to the West Central School District. All three members were presented with plaques as a thank you.  Superintendent Day then invited the newly elected members of the Board to the table and called the meeting to order at 6:05 pm. Members present at that time were Brendan Schaley, Dilan Vancil, Josh Higgins, Karl Gullberg, Lauren Chockley, Mindy Clark and Sarah Bigger.  Josh Higgins, Lauren Chockley and Karl Gullberg took the Oath of Office for School Board Members. Brendan Schaley was elected President of the Board, Dillan Vancil was elected Vice President, and Mindy Clark was elected the board Secretary. The next board meeting will be May 17th at 6 p.m.

Man Found Dead in Burlington

Authorities in southeast Iowa are investigating a man’s death following the report of a Christmas night shooting. Just after 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Burlington police and fire department responders were called
