17th Annual Monmouth Police Dept. FOP Fishing Derby This Saturday, June 3rd

The Monmouth Police Department Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 265 seventeenth annual Cops and Bobbers kid’s fishing derby will be held this Saturday, June 3rd at Citizen’s Lake outside Monmouth, shares Police Chief Joe Switzer:

“This is one of those program the union, the Fraternal Order of Police, has been the driving force behind it since the beginning and it has been going on quite awhile. It is a good event for the kids to get out first thing in the summertime, get out and catch some fish. They do have prizes that are given away to the kids. A lot of people it might be their chance to experience fishing for the first time.”

The annual fishing derby will be held from 8 am to noon for ages 2 to 15. Bring your own fishing pole and bait, plus anyone 16 and older that are assisting will be required to have a valid fishing license.
