Larry R. Butler, age 79 of Roseville, IL, passed away on Sunday, June 4th, 2023 at the OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth, IL.

Larry was born on February 26th, 1944 on the family farm near Soldier, IA to Charles and Gladys (Torgerson) Butler. A 1962 graduate of Moorhead High School, he served for two years in the U.S. Army and attended business college near Omaha, NE. For most of his adult life, he worked in the accounting department for an osteopathic teaching college in Kansas City, MO, retiring after 25 years. He later moved to Roseville, IL to be closer to his family.

Larry is survived by his brother, Ronald J. Butler of Roseville, IL, and his sister, Norma J. (Terry) Carrico of Chariton, IA. Also surviving are two nieces; Kris (Dave Mackmiller) Butler of St. Paul, MN and Mona (Kurt) Douglas of Chariton, IA; and a nephew, Travis (Tara) Carrico of New Sharon, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother and sister-in-law, Dean and Gloria Butler, and his sister, Carol Butler.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a private family committal service will be held at a later date at Soldier Lutheran Cemetery in Soldier, IA. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL, is in charge of the arrangements.  For more information or to leave an online condolence, please visit www.mcguireanddaviesfuneralhome.com
