Knox County Corrections Officer Arrested in Off-Duty Incident

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office was alerted to an incident handled by the Galesburg Police Department involving an off-duty Corrections Officer on July 5th, 2023.

Galesburg Police Department conducted an investigation which ultimately led to an arrest warrant issued for Corrections Officer Matthew Ferry.

An arrest warrant was issued by Knox County State’s Attorney on July 11th, 2023 for Corrections Officer Ferry for Aggravated Assault for the off-duty incident that occurred on July 5th. Ferry was arrested by the Galesburg Police Department and posted bond. Corrections Officer Ferry has been placed on Administrative Leave per protocol. All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
