Lisa Marie Owings, 54, of Galesburg, Illinois, died Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at 11:35 p.m. at the Knox County Nursing Home, Knoxville, Illinois.

Lisa was born March 6, 1969 in Monmouth, Illinois, the daughter of Robert Archie and Alice Ann (Fields) Reitman. She graduated from Yorkwood High School in 1988. On October 7, 1989, Lisa Married George Eldon Owings. He preceded her in death on February 9, 2019.

Lisa is survived by her father, Robert Reitman of Arizona; three brothers, William Reitman of Arizona, Mark Reitman of Vermont, and Bobby Reitman of Arizona; and one sister, Fara Ann Reitman of Galesburg. Along with her husband, Lisa was preceded in death by her mother and one brother.

Lisa enjoyed her youth growing up in Little York. She was a member of Hope Wesleyan Church in Galesburg where she enjoyed volunteering. Lisa and George enjoyed fishing and camping at Lake Storey. She loved to be outside and surrounded by nature including tending to her garden. When she had to be inside, Lisa enjoyed working on puzzles and listening to music, especially 80’s and country gospel. She loved all her cats, especially Charlie and enjoyed working with children.

Cremation has been accorded. Private burial will be at Little York Cemetery, Little York, Illinois. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Memorial contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity, 156 N. Seminary St., Galesburg, IL 61401. Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com.
