Richard J. Ishmael, 69, of Monmouth, IL passed away at 8:06 am, Friday, July 28, 2023 at his home.

Richard was born May 16, 1954 in Monmouth, IL the son of Lewis E. and Mary G. (Barry) Ishmael.  He was raised and educated in Monmouth, graduating from Monmouth High School in 1972 later attending Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg, IL.

Richard was an auto body repairman working at Bruce Foote Chevrolet, Daves Autobody and other locations.  Finally, he worked at Gibson Woods Golf Course in Monmouth before retiring.

He was of Catholic faith.  He enjoyed collecting baseball cards, going to shows and playing poker.

Survivors include his siblings, Dean (Phyllis) Ishmael of TN, Martha (Butch) Crain of Kirkwood, IL; and Edward E. Ishmael of Oquawka, IL; his son, Jeremy Poulson of Galesburg; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Raymond Ishmael and William “Smokey” Ishmael and one sister, Elizabeth Gudeman.
