West Central Graduate Shares Future Plans As He Prepares To Enter College

This year, the Warren- Henderson Farm Bureau Foundation presented seventeen students with scholarships to help further their education in agriculture. Among those recipients is Connor Gibb, a recent graduate from West Central High School.

While in high school, Gibb kept busy. He says he was involved in 4-H, FFA, student council, golf, bowling, and holding a variety of leadership positions.

This fall, Gibb will attend Southeastern Community College in Burlington IA, majoring in Ag Business.

“Hopefully becoming a salesman, I am not sure for who yet,” said Gibb. “But if it comes down to it, I know I have an opportunity for a job with Nutrien Ag Solutions in Biggsville.”

While at Southeastern Community College, Gibb will also be earning a minor in welding.

“My junior year, I took a welding class and I enjoyed it a lot,” said Gibb. “I was pretty decent at it, so I said ‘Why not try it and see if I can get better.’”

Gibb says he appreciates the support from the Warren-Henderson Farm Bureau Foundation as he prepares to fund his own education.
