On Saturday, August 19th the Monmouth Masonic Lodge #37, Monmouth VFW Post 2301, Boy Scout Troop 705, and Warren County Girl Scout Service Unit 882 will hold their 3rd Annual Monmouth Area Vocational Scholarship Fundraiser at the Monmouth American Legion. Monmouth Masonic Member Tim Vice shares how the vocational scholarship program got started:

“This originally started with a kid I know in Oquawka area, he had like a 3.94 and at the time I was a Scholarship Chairman for the Valley of Moline and because of him wanting to go into an electrician apprenticeship and new energy, there wasn’t anything I could do for him. That had a lot to do with what I am doing here today.”

The annual event will be held from 5 to 9 pm at the Monmouth American Legion with a silent auction, music trivia from 7 to 9 pm, a whole hog raffle, bake sale, and brisket and fish dinners for $10 will be available.
