The Carl Sandburg College Foundation and Sandburg’s College of Nursing have joined the national initiative 100 Extraordinary Women, where women pledge their support toward the success of nursing students and Sandburg’s new Science and Technology Center. Chief Advancement Officer Eric Johnson explains the raised funds is utilized for immediate action for the students:

“What this goes for is immediate action for the students. What we hear from students is transportation, daycare, textbooks, WiFi hot spots, maybe it is a reliable laptop to do their homework on. So, what we are using these funds for if for our student nursing success grants. Students can be awarded for this year up to $500 that can be utilized. This year because of the support form donors already and from what our Foundation has put in, we budgeted $30,000 and our goal here is to keep this rolling.”

75 percent of a $100,000 goal has been reached for Sandburg’s ongoing 100 Extraordinary Women campaign.
