Doris Louise Williams, 97, of Victoria, passed away on Friday August 18, 2023, 7:50 PM at the Knox County Nursing Home, Knoxville.

Doris was born on August 13, 1926 in Rio and lived her life in Victoria. She married James Wayne Williams on February 3, 1946 in Galesburg, IL. She is survived by her sons Doug (Cynthia) Williams of Oneida, IL, and Russell (Susan) of Agency, MO, Daughter-in-law Mary Williams of Victoria, grandchildren Joel (Karisa) Williams, Genna Williams, Matthew Williams, Jason (Becca) Petentler, Brittany (Jeff) Simmons, Kristen Williams, Joshua Williams and Aaron Williams, great grandchildren Tieler Fouts, Kira Jo Williams, Nataleigh and Mason Petentler and Silas Simmons, and many nieces, nephews.

Doris was the last surviving of 13 children of Mildred Irene and Arthur Coziahr. She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne and son Bradley Williams.

Doris was a graduate of Galesburg High School. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Victoria and served as treasurer for many years and participated in many travel experiences with her church group. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, gardening, reading, coffee club and more recently puzzles, lots of puzzles. Her extensive family was paramount to Doris and came before anything else. Her strength, candid nature, and the love she exuded will be sorely missed.

Visitation will be from 5-7 PM on Friday, August 25, 2023 at the Victoria United Methodist Church, 102 West Washington Street, Victoria, Illinois 61485. Funeral services will be 10 AM, Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Victoria United Methodist Church. Rev. Russ Collister will officiate. Burial will follow at the Victoria Cemetery, Victoria. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory, Oneida will be assisting the family with services. Memorials may be donated to the Victoria United Methodist Church, the Coziahr Memorial Fund or to a charity of the donor’s choosing.
