McDonough County Sheriff’s Department Investigating Shooting Incident

On August 26, 2023, the McDonough County Sheriff’s Office responded to 3715 North 350th Road in rural Plymouth, IL for two males that were in a physical altercation. One of the males shot the other.

Colchester Rescue and Lifeguard Ambulance responded to the scene to give aid to a 41-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The patient was then transported to Carthage Memorial Hospital for further care.

The McDonough County Sheriff’s Office along with the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Unit processed the scene for evidence.

The McDonough County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the incident. There is no danger to the community at this time.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
