Share

Gearing up for the next school, the Regional Office of Education #33 held their Back to School Administrators meeting for districts in Henderson, Knox, Mercer, and Warren Counties, shares Regional Superintendent Jodi Scott:

“We have all of the principals, superintendents, assistant principals, central office staff in to talk to each other and ourselves. During that meeting we brought in our local legislators, not only to share with us what is happening legislatively and what happened over the last legislative session, but for them to hear from us about the impacts of different legislation and how it impacts our school districts and students in our schools. Then we also had folks from the Illinois State Board of Education talk us through all 23 new mandates that were put onto schools this year.”

Scott informs some of the new mandates are related to curriculum, school bus safety, the hiring process, and addressing teacher shortage.
