The West Central School District kicks off the new school year Tuesday, August 15th as teachers and staff have returned for two institute days with students returning Thursday the 17th, shares Superintendent Stacey Day:

“It is back to school week. Tuesday and Wednesday our teachers are back. Kids first day will then be on Thursday. The summer before I started we started an HVAC project and put air conditioning in all of our campuses and we are up and running. The buildings in that regard are in good shape. Our Elementary and our High School welcome back night will be at 5:30 pm on Tuesday evening and then the Middle School will start at 6 pm. We try to stagger it a little bit so that families with multiple grade levels can get to everything. Kids and families will have a chance to come in, see the buildings, find their teacher, find their locker. At the Middle School we have our Club Heat, or the 21st Century Grant program, is providing a meal and snacks down there for families that are there.”

The West Central Board of Education will hold their August meeting this Wednesday evening at 6 pm.
