David A. Adkisson, 76, of Roseville, IL, passed away at 4:17 a.m. on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg. 

 David was born April 13, 1947, in Monmouth, IL to A. Lester Adkisson and Margaret Adkisson. He was raised and educated in Roseville, graduating from Roseville High School in 1966.  David married Audrey Mazula on August 13, 2004 in Macomb, IL and she survives.

Those left to cherish his memory are; children, Lisa Switzenberg of Wrightsville, PA, Heather Adkisson of York, PA, Nathan (Jamie) Adkisson of Roseville, Barbara Maxymczak of Monmouth, IL, Michael Nau of Rapid City, SD; grandchildren, Kira, Hunter, Payton, Lexei, Sean, Paxton, Palmer; sister, Nancy Sorenson of Quincy, IL. Several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews also survive. 

He was preceded in death by his parents.

David was hard-working and spent the last 10 years of his employment working for Shelman and Sons Trucking out of Winfield, IA until his retirement in 2014. He was an avid NASCAR (Dale Earnhardt, Jr.) and Green Bay Packers fan. He loved horses and working on the farm in his younger days. He loved working on cars and owned A&A Autobody until he was no longer able to. He was a jokester and enjoyed teasing his family, especially his grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was a long-time member of the Roseville Christian Church. 

Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of David’s life is planned for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 8, 2023, at the Roseville Christian Church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Roseville Ambulance Service or the Roseville Christian Church and left in the care of the funeral home.
