At the recent Monmouth-Roseville Board of Education meeting, the summer trip to Europe in 2025 was approved, which is now open to families outside of the school to attend, shares Superintendent Ed Fletcher:

“The board approved a field trip to Europe in the summer of 2025. The high school went on one this past summer. They are trying to just put it into two year cycles. There is some fundraising and giving the kids that length of time hopefully would encourage them to go and it is open to families outside of the school system. If they would like to attend, they would have to go through a background check because they would be around students. Part of this tour company, there are other schools that do this and so they do have to go through a background check. That is a really cool opportunity for the kids.”

Also, during the board meeting, Junior at Monmouth-Roseville High School, Mateo Murphy, was recognized for her Honorable Mention honor in the Gwendolyn Brooks Youth Poetry Awards with her poem entitled ‘The Monsters that Hide behind her Silence.’
