No Gas Leak Detected at Corner of North Henderson Street & Carl Sandburg Drive

The Galesburg Police Department received multiple calls regarding a possible gas leak at the corner of North Henderson and Carl Sandburg Drive. Ameren crews were onsite and City staff have confirmed that there is not an active gas leak at that location. It is believed that the source of the smell is from the equipment being utilized for the demolition of the former Sirloin Stockade building. City of Galesburg staff have initiated contact with the contractor completing the demolition work to make them aware of the issue.
