Stopping by Illinois’s DMV’s might now require an appointment. The Skip the Line program now eliminates walk in services for drivers’ licenses, Real ID and to take a driving test at 44 of the state’s busiest facilities.

Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias says the time for change has come.

Another change is all driver service facilities will be open Monday through Friday and a select 15 will hold Saturday hours.
