The Annual Warren County Prime Beef Festival Princess Pageant kicked off the week of events last Saturday evening, crowning Lucinda Mendoza 3rd Runner-Up, Alina Juszczyk 2nd Runner-Up, Natalie Boyd 1st Runner-Up, and Aubrey Killey the 2023 Prime Beef Festival Princess.

Aubrey is a senior at Monmouth-Roseville High School, involved in 4-H, FFA, and cheerleading, is the daughter of Kevin and DeNeene Killey, and plans to attend a junior college:

“I actually hope to go to a junior college. I am thinking of colleges in Illinois, but I would like to go on a full-ride livestock judging team and then while I am there I would like to major in animal nutrition. We have a guy who comes out about twice a month to our farm and looks at our show stock and tells us what he thinks their nutritional needs are. I am hoping to get an internship next summer at maybe Earlybird or a nutritional place just so I can learn some things, but then am hoping to go on and major in animal nutrition to hopefully better the youth for the next generation.”

1st Runner-Up Natalie Boyd is the daughter of Shannon VanBrooker and Robbie Boyd, a senior at Monmouth-Roseville, serves as Class President, and Student Council Vice President while being involved in volleyball and the speech team. After high school, Boyd plans to attend a four-year college:

“The plan is a four-year college, hopefully for business and marketing and sports management, but ever since I started working at Dame Fine Coffee, watching my boss Dillan with all of his duties as my boss, it really inspired me to want to own my own business one day hopefully, maybe something like his.”

Alina Juszczyk, 2nd Runner-Up, the daughter of Don and Michelle Juszczyk, also a senior at Monmouth-Roseville, serves as Student Council President and Class Senator. Alina’s future plans include attending a four-year college:

“My future plans are to attend a four-year college in Wisconsin, majoring in accounting because I have always loved numbers since I was little. Currently, two schools I am looking at are right on the water, so I am super excited about that aspect.”

3rd Runner-Up Lucinda Mendoza, a senior at Monmouth-Roseville, is part of the Majorettes, plays on the softball team, and is the daughter of Judy Mendoza. Following high school, Lucinda plans to serve in the United States Air Force:

“Right now I am in the delayed entry program with the Air Force. I already signed my contract and everything about a month ago. Since I am in the delayed entry program, I get to pick my job, or at least the top five. I took the ASVAB and wanted to see what I was able to do in life and then I told my counselor that I was interested in the Air Force because my brother’s best friend did it. These Air Force recruiters came and talked to me and convinced me to enlist and everything.”

Natalie Boyd was also awarded Talent and Alina Juszczyk Personality.
