Is your son, daughter, nephew, niece, or grand kid interested in becoming a firefighter or maybe even a paramedic? The Explorers Program is the perfect learning opportunity for young adults, ages 14-18. Payton Crain, from the Central Warren Fire Department, discusses more about this awesome training experience.

“So basically, what it’s going to be is ages 14–18-year-old kids can join and come to our meetings, our training’s, and everything like that, to just get an idea for what that field is. They can go to Champaign; we can train them in house. We are looking to expand it into a post. With that, it opens opportunity for me to get grants and funding for the boys and girls, so that way we can get them some gear, some nice things, t-shirts, pants, whatever they want. We have some cans there at Kirkwood that we’re hoping to turn into training cans, so that explorers and us can train in them and sharpen our skills without driving to Champaign. If they’re interested in it, they can call me. My number is 309-221-3347, or you can just look up Central Warren County Fire Protection District on Facebook and send a message there.”

With the hope of expanding the Explorers Program, the Central Warren Fire Department are looking for boys and girls, ages 14-18 years old, who are interested in becoming a firefighter or paramedic, to participate in this great opportunity to gain experience and knowledge. For more information or have questions, contact Payton Crain at 309-221-3347, or contact the Central Warren County Fire Protection District on Facebook.
