The United Red Storm boys and girls golf teams made it a clean sweep of Lincoln Trail Conference Championships. The Red Storm boys shot a team score of 344 to beat runnerup Abingdon-Avon by 12 strokes at Midland Golf Club in Kewanee on Wednesday. Last week, the Red Storm girls claimed their 3rd straight team title.

The United boys were led by senior Carson Horner’s 79, good enought to place him 2nd, individually. Mercer County junior Carson Boelens’ 75 was the lowest individual score of the day. Horner was joined by fellow United all-confernce finishers, senior Luke Jungmann’s 4th place score of 82 and sophomore Aiden Martin’s 8th place of 85. Rounding out the scoring for United was sophomore Ian Leffler’s 98 for 25th.

A-Town sophomore Alex Foutch was 3rd with a 79. Foutch’s teammate, senior Kyle McVey was 7th with an 85. Senior Patrick McKewon was 18th with a 94 and senior CJ Pugh was 24th with a 98.

West Central placed 6th and were led by all-conference member junior Ethan Nichols’ 10th place finish with an 89. West Central freshman Aiden Todd’s 101 was good enough for 28th. The top-10 finishers were named Lincoln Trail All-Conference team members.
