Betty Ann Burns, a resident of Galesburg, Illinois, was born on September 29, 1940, and passed from this world on October 15, 2023. She was the beloved daughter of the late James C. Cloyd and Anna E. Davidson, also of Galesburg. Betty worked diligently at the local Maytag Factory for many years until her retirement. Betty married Michael O. Burns on May 10, 1959 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on December 11, 2017.

Betty will be remembered for her love to her family including her sons, Michael (Cindy) Burns of Galesburg, Illinois, and Patrick (Cynthia) Burns of Converse, Texas, and daughter, Shelly (Larry) Sheppard of Bandera, Texas. Eight grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren were fortunate to experience Betty’s warmth and nurturing spirit.

Known for her interests in bowling and antique collecting, Betty was also well-appreciated for her adventurous spirit, often traveling with her husband. The love she held for her grandchildren was unparalleled.

Cremation will be accorded. Burial of cremated remains will be at Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg, Illinois. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com.
