Delores M. Johnson, 92, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 5:33 a.m., Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at Bounce Back at Seminary Manor, Galesburg, IL. 

She was born on May 1, 1931 in New Boston, IL, the daughter of Jesse V. and Edna M. (Shotwell) Jackson.  Delores was raised and educated in Mercer and Warren Counties and graduated from Roseville High School in 1950. 

Delores married Harlan G. Johnson on October 7, 1953 in Monmouth, IL; he preceded her in death on August 3, 2014.

She worked at the Second National Bank in Monmouth as a bookkeeper for several years.  Delores and Harlan lived in Chicago, IL from 1950-1967; while living there she worked at a bank and drapery factory.  After moving back to Monmouth, Delores was a homemaker for many years.  She lastly worked at the Secretary of State Driver’s License facility in Monmouth until her retirement in 1990. 

Delores liked to read, watch TV, cook, and dine out.  She liked spending time in Florida during her retirement and traveling.  Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family.  Delores was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Monmouth. 

Surviving Delores are her children, Frank K. (Michele) Johnson of Bridgewater, NJ, Robin A. Johnson of Monmouth, IL, Dawn M. Johnson of Monmouth, IL; one grandson, Paul E. Johnson of Bridgewater, NJ; numerous nieces and nephews, and especially great niece, Nicole Taylor, who was Delores’ caregiver for the last 3 years. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Martin Jackson, Everett Jackson; and one sister, Joyce Folden. 

Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 28, 2023 at the First Lutheran Church, Monmouth, IL.  Interment will be in Warren County Memorial Park, Monmouth, IL.  Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, October 27, 2023 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth.
