Flor De Bethania Figueroa De Tavarez, 49, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 4:15 pm, Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at her home.

She was born in the Dominican Republic on October 7, 1974 the daughter of Hugo and Florinda (Rojas) Figueroa. She was raised and educated in the Dominican Republic and earned a degree in elementary education from the Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo.

Flor married Socrates Tavarez on December 20, 2009 in the Dominican Republic and he survives.

Flor loved to garden and take her dog for walks. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family.

Flor is survived by her husband, Socrates Tavarez; daughter, Sor Mary Tavarez of Monmouth, IL; father, Hugo Figueroa and her two brothers, Ramon Antonio Ortega Rojas and Rafael Figueroa all of the Dominican Republic.

She is preceded in death by her mother.

Cremation has been accorded.  No local services are planned at this time. Services and interment will take place in the Dominican Republic at a later date. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL, is in charge of arrangements.
