Soup Suppers are Back at the Monmouth American Legion

Share

Soup suppers are back at the Monmouth American Legion on the first Mondays of the month through May. Finance Officer Cheri Stanton shares how the soup suppers got started:

“We started those about five years ago. The power bills were going from seven to eight to nine hundred dollars and I thought it couldn’t get worse than this. Then we go one for $1,200 and I said we had to do something guys, and so I asked if they would let me do soup suppers or something just to get something generated and they said sure, if you cook. So, I got that job and we have a soup supper every first Monday of every month.”

The Monmouth American Legion also has weekly tenderloin Tuesdays, hamburger fry Saturdays from 11 to 1, and catfish and steak dinners on Fridays and Saturdays.
