The United Red Storm volleyball team has had a busy past week of action. This past weekend the Red Storm competed in the Orion Volleyball Tournament on Saturday. United would finish 1-2 in pool play falling to Princeton in two sets in their first match, beating United Township in two sets, before losing to the host Orion Chargers in two sets by scores of 21-12 and 21-19. The Red Storm would end the tournament placing 4th after losing to (21-3) Galena in two sets to cap off their Saturday slate. The Red Storm took on another quality team on the road in Annawan on Tuesday, dropping a Lincoln Trail conference match to the first place, (19-3) Bravettes in two sets. With the increase in tough competition that United volleyball has been seeing lately, Athletic Director Jeremy Sharp says the girls are always ready to take on the best teams, stating that they never shy away from a challenging opponent.

United will get right back into tournament action this weekend, when they host the 2023 United Volleyball Tournament on Saturday. The Red Storm will be in pool A, they will open at 9:30 against the Abingdon-Avon Tornadoes, take on Henry-Senachwine at 10:30, face off against Southeastern at 12:30, then wrap up pool play at 2:30 against West Central. The 1st and 3rd place games of the tournament will be held at 4:30. For the full interview with United Athletic Director Jeremy Sharp, visit the Sports Podcast section.
