W-H Farm Bureau Manager Gina Sanberg Reminds Motorists and Farmers of Harvest Safety this Fall Season

Share

Harvest season is in full swing in the local area and Warren-Henderson Farm Bureau Manager Gina Sanberg reminds motorists and farmers to remain safe on the roadways and in the fields:

“When you are behind large equipment, the viewpoint of person in that piece of equipment is much different than what your viewpoint is. If you cannot see the farmer, the farmer cannot see you. If you are going to pass, make sure it is a safe and appropriate place to pass. If a piece of equipment pulls off to the right side of the road, don’t automatically assume right away that they are wanting you to pass, make sure they are not doing a wide turn. The other big thing too is of course semi’s when they are full of anything, whether it is grain or taking any piece of equipment on the roadway, it takes even longer for them to stop. If you can, try not to pull out in front of a semi.”

Sanberg reports out in the fields locally, farmers are seeing some wet corn, but yields have been good and beans are starting to get cut as well.
