The recent West Central Board of Education meeting began with discussion on their current facilities and what upgrades and improvements need to be added to the list as the district’s ten-year life safety survey is ready for renewal. The meeting continued with renewing a bus lease, shares Superintendent Stacey Day:

“It is time for a new bus lease, so we are talking about spending money on facilities and we have to talk about what busses are going to cost us. We looked at that through Midwest Bus sales, that is the company we have used in the past. We are looking at $30,000 a bus for a year on a lease, just traditional engines. The electric busses, we have talked a little bit about them, but due to our size and the length of our routes, and our locations, we are still pretty cautious and kind of letting some other places work some of the bugs out on those first and then really take a look at them as we see how that technology grows.”

Superintendent Day also shares the West Central Middle School will be hosting their Veteran’s Day assembly on Friday, November 10th at 9:30 am with a guest speaker, music from the band and choir, and remarks from students.
