Don’t Let Those Porch Pirates Steal Your Packages

Share

The holiday season is here and so is the increase of shopping online for gifts. Unfortunately, this time of the year also brings out the so called “porch pirates” that are on the hunt to steal those delivered packages. Monmouth Police Department Investigator Josh Kramer offers these tips in protecting your online purchases:

“If you have packages coming in the mail, make sure that they are delivered to either somebody or a place that they don’t sit on the porch for hours or even days on end. Or, have a secure location for the packages to go.”

If you happen to see someone taking a package off your porch, Investigator Kramer advises contacting local law enforcement immediately.
