Frederick A. Lantau, 75, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 4:08 pm on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth, IL.

Fred was born on October 15, 1948 in Moline, IL. the son of  Fred Charles and Thema Jean “Shorty” (Minteer) Lantau. He was raised and educated in Viola, IL, attending Winola High School.

He married Donna on October 5, 2012 in Monmouth and she survives.

He worked at Ken Curry Construction in East Moline, IL.

Fred was a member of the Heritage Bible Church in Monmouth. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and working on cars and his yard. He had a very tender heart.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Lantau of Monmouth; 2 sons, Todd (Debbie) Lantau of Andalusia, IL and Devin Lantau of Columbus Junction, IA; 3 grandchildren, Crystal Lantau, Rachel Lookingbill and Shelby Lantau; 1 great granddaughter, Nicole Bouchard; 2 brothers, William (Deb) Lantau of Monmouth and Rick (Tammy) Lantau of Aledo, IL; 1 sister, Diane Baugher of Aledo; several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by parents.

Graveside services will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, December 27, 2023 be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, IL.  Memorials may be to the Heritage Bible Church and sent to the funeral home.
