James L. Brant, age 68, of Oquawka, Illinois passed away on December 24, 2024 at his residence. Jim is the son of Robert I and Bonnie J. DuVal Brant. He attended local schools and Union High School locally. After his schooling he served his country in the United States Air Force and attained the rank of Senior Airman. Jim was self employed as a truck driver. He also was vehicle body mechanic and painter. He is survived by his son, Andrew Brant in Texas, Two sisters, Catherine Leonard and Sally of Champaign, Illinois and Mary Noel and Bill of Shiloh, Illinois. His brother survives, Michael Brant and Dana of Kirkwood, Illinois. Jim is preceded in his death by his parents and an infant son, Robert Brant.

Cremation has been accorded and his family plans a graveside committal of his ashes with military honors on May 22, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Oquawka Cemetery in Oquawka, Illinois.
