Here’s the WMOI/WRAM Athletes of the Week for the week ending Dec. 24th, 2023:

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is junior girls basketball player, Tatianna Talivaa. The Titans earned a pair of road wins last week and Tatianna was a big part of it. She averaged just under 20 points and 8 rebounds a game in both victories. Tatianna’s shooting is starting to heat up, as well, making five 3-pointers and going 10-14 from the free throw line.

The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is junior girls basketball player, Katie Flynn. Katie has been filling the stat sheet up all season long. She filled it up even more on the recent run of good basketball her team has been playing the past two weeks. Katie has averaged 9 points, 4.5 rebounds a game all while leading the team in assists with just under 4 a game.

The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is junior girls basketball player, Harlee Hainds. Harlee was dominant around the rim in a win over United. She posted 15 points and 6 rebounds, shooting a perfect 7-7 from the floor. In two wins last week, Harlee averaged 13.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.

The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is senior boys basketball player, Jace Keith. Jace’s performance on the court has been very consistent the past few weeks. He scored 14 points and had 11 rebounds for a double-double in a close road loss at Danville last week. Besides his play on the court, Jace has provided steady leadership for a young ball club, as well.

The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week is junior girls basketball player, Emma Gunther. In two games last week, Emma was her usually steady self on the offensive end, averaging 4 points and 3 rebounds a game. It’s on the defensive end where she really helps her team’s cause. Emma had 10 pass deflections and two steals, categories in which she is second on the team for the season.
